I was encouraged to read a Psalm a day. It seemed like an attainable goal, but I decided to choose a verse that stood out to me and to share my thoughts; a devotional of sorts. I love to read my Bible and journal using SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer). I decided that I would put out a call on Facebook to see who would want to do this with me and I had a few friends who were like, “Me”. I was excited to read and post, but it took a considerable amount of time for me to get the wording down, I’d get interrupted and then days would pass. I read and wrote about Psalm 1-5 and then… I didn’t keep going. I also wanted to read more than just Psalms in my Bible.
I’m learning that I’m an all or nothing kind of gal. I turn ideas into projects and then often leave them unfinished. Besides my posts were too long for FB. Who wants to read a post that is three paragraphs long? That is an excellent reason to create a blog. Which has delayed my little Psalm devotional idea for an additional month.
Instead of reading the entire book of Psalms in 150 days straight, I will read a Psalm, journal and post as often as I can. I am good with that.
